Planning your Custom Tee

It’s amazing how much you can do with a custom printed t-shirt! Should you use a wide range of colours and print all over the t-shirt or keep it simple with a faded logo?

First ask yourself what kind of t-shirt you’re designing. Is it merch for your punk band or employee uniforms for your froyo shop? The t-shirts can be drastically different so start with the basics.

Sketch a few t-shirt designs on a piece of paper, think about who will wear the tee and why. Let the colours, words and icons on the t-shirt work together towards an awesome design!

Using Colours

Screenprinting is a really cool process! Each colour is added to your shirt one-by-one and the whole thing is pretty magical (check out this video to see how we make tees)

You can make incredibly colourful tees, but you can also do a lot with a little. Consider using limited colours to lower the cost of printing.

We’ve seen some amazing designs done with just white ink on a black tee, and some that are the complete opposite, using every colour in the rainbow!
