Jeremy: Hey Jen, how was your weekend?
My weekend was fantastic! It was spent at Toronto’s Festival of Beer which is in its 19th year. The festival is put on by Beerlicious Inc. and I work there as the assistant to the president of the festival.
How many people came out to the Beerfest Toronto?
Roughly 10,000 per day come out to the festival.
Which day was the busiest?
Attendance was the highest on Saturday but it felt like Friday was the busiest day for me. The crowd for De la Soul was so epic and fun and made the place feel packed.
Did you get to try some beers?
Unfortunately I did not as I was working the entire time but got to enjoy a much-needed pint after it all ended 🙂
How did you promote the festival?
We do a lot of marketing for the festival and do promotions with NOW Magazine, TAPS Magazine and The Bay St. Bull while also doing a poster program with the TTC and also The Beer Store. We also try and promote the festival as much as possible via social media and use Facebook and Twitter for contesting and to interact with consumers.
#beerme!
What did you get printed at Artik Toronto?
Artik was fantastic and printed our Backpacks for the Girl’s Guided Beer Tour, a special tour we do yearly for women looking to learn more about the golden beverage. We also got printed wristbands and lanyards for the Owners’ Lounge.
What else does Beerlicious / Chef Events work on?
Beerlicious also plans the Ontario Brewing Awards and puts on a Beach ribfest at Woodbine Park called Beach BBQ and Brews on Father’s Day weekend. We also do a few satellite events throughout the year to promote the festival and are working on increasing the amount of beer-related events we host 🙂
Have you started planning for next year’s Toronto Beerfest?
Beer, it’s the best damn drink in the world.
